Episode 82: Why Does Fruit Get Such a Bad Rap?

11/8/2019

This year on the show, we've endeavored to clear up the confusion around some unpopular ingredients in current diet culture...from our many conversations about sugar, to our episode on carbs, to last week's episode on dairy sensitivities...well today Keeley and I carry on with this trend by trying to figure out why fruit is getting such a bad rap in certain circles.  For those who keep fruit limited in their diets, this episode is not meant to cast shade on your choice!  We just want to make sure the fruit lovers' voices are heard too.  So let's jump in!

Listen to Episode 82 in iTunes, the Apple Podcasts app, or Stitcher.

Special thanks to Amy Van Vlear for original design and Jonathan Byram for original music!

Episode 81: Dairy...is it a Sensitivity, Intolerance, or Allergy?

"Do you do dairy?"  It's a common question today!  Whether you're like me-indiscriminate lover of all dairies (coffee is not coffee for me until it's got a healthy portion of cream in it) or Leah-sensitive but not quite intolerant...or full-blown allergic to the stuff, I think we can all agree that there's some confusion around dairy!  Not to mention food sensitivities in general!  So today, Leah and I are discussing dairy from this point of view.  We'll clarify the difference between a dairy allergy and lactose intolerance and we'll address some of our favorite dairy alternatives too.  Let's get into it!

Listen to Episode 81 in iTunes, the Apple Podcasts app, or Stitcher.

Linkables discussed in this episode:
How naturally-occurring lactase helps to break down the lactose in yogurt.
Which Dairy Foods Contain the Least Lactose?
